Penalties and dismissals in SAMTID

| "It is hard to believe that in Buşteni, Azuga and Comarnic the works will be rendered in due time. I do not know whether the SAMTID will be finished or not." This is the latest statement of Mircea Cosma, President of Prahova County Council, regarding the SAMTID programme. Moreover, Cosma has declared that the constructor has incurred penalties of 10% a day out of the 12 million Euros, sum which represents the current value of the contract. "Starting October 1st, the County Council diagram shall be modified, meaning that several persons will be dismissed.

Bărcăneşti City Hall demolished for the highway

| At the beginning of this week, the headquarters of Bărcăneşti City Hall, as well as the premises of the Cultural Centre, have been demolished in order to make way for the Bucharest-Braşov highway. In no more than three quarters of an hour, the building built in 1902 has been torn down, leaving a working space of 2 km for the builder. Two machines have turned the two buildings into debris because were in the way of the construction. Although the building was very old and in need of constant repairs, the Mayor of the locality has watched the operation with regret.

| The main car dealers in the County have been quite busy in the past few months due to the clients’ requests of purchasing convertible and off-road cars. The lists have been filled in since April, and the requests kept coming including in July. Luxurious cars are of special interest to those eager to spend a significant amount of money, and who can also afford a season car, for which they have to pay from 10 to 15% more compared to a classic non-convertible model. "In order to cope with the new requests, we have made supplies in this respect. Convertible cars are mostly bought during summer, when they are fashionable.

| Whilst the financial analysts constantly warn us about the fact that the economic disaster in the United States will affect our country as well, the members of the Parliament have proved that other actions related to the electoral campaign are much more significant than the well-being of Romania. In a country in which the inflation rate is varying and higher than the average of other EU countries, the politicians have thought that the salaries of the teachers are far more important than economic stability.
